Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data SCHMIEDE NUTRITION ("SCHMIEDE", "we") collects when you use schmiedeyourway.com and SCHMIEDE Performance, why, who it is shared with, and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Who is responsible

SCHMIEDE NUTRITION, M.H. Plaza, Thumbe, Mangalore, Karnataka 574143 (GSTIN 29GGUPR9542G1ZB) decides how your personal data is used. You can reach us at foundersoffice@schmiedeyourway.com or +91 81975 55477.

2. What we collect

Your account

• Email address, which you sign in with using a one-time code
• Name, and optionally your mobile number and date of birth
• A referral code, if you enter one or share your own

Orders and delivery

• Name, email, phone number and delivery address (including any landmark)
• What you ordered, amounts, coupons used, payment method and payment status
• Payment reference numbers from Razorpay. We never receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
• Your GSTIN, if you give one for an invoice, and the invoices we issue
• Saved addresses, and details entered at checkout even if the payment isn't completed
• Return or replacement requests, including any photos you upload with them

Messages and updates

• Messages you send through the contact form (name, email, subject and message), which go to our support inbox
• Your email address, if you ask to be told when a product is available or sign up for updates

Programmes

• Referrals and personal coupons, and loyalty points from your purchases
• Ambassador applications: name, email, phone and the social media profiles you list
• For creators we pay: payout details (UPI ID or bank account)

SCHMIEDE Performance (only if you use it)

• Setup answers: birth year, sex, height, body fat, goals, activity, training days and experience, equipment, diet, allergies, food preferences, sleep, stress, schedule and food budget
• Health screening answers, only with your permission: heart conditions or blood pressure, chest pain or fainting, diabetes, kidney or other long-term conditions and related medication, bone, joint or muscle problems, recent surgery or injury, pregnancy or a recent birth, eating disorders, and whether a doctor has cleared you to exercise
• What you log: weight, body measurements, check-ins, recovery, food diary, recipes and meal plans, water, steps, activity, workouts and journal notes
• Progress photos, only with your permission
• Notes from your coach, your Performance pass purchases, and a leaderboard name and country if you choose to appear
• Data from Apple Health or Health Connect, only with your permission, where the app offers it

Technical information

• Your IP address and basic request details, used to run the site and protect it from abuse
• Information stored in your browser, described in section 6

3. How we use it

• To create your account and sign you in
• To take payment, deliver your order, issue GST invoices and handle cancellations, returns and refunds
• To answer your messages and resolve complaints
• To send service emails, such as sign-in codes and order updates, and the availability or update emails you asked for
• To run referrals, coupons, loyalty points and partner payouts
• To provide SCHMIEDE Performance: building and adjusting your plans, tracking your progress, keeping plans safe using your health answers, and coach review if you allow it
• To prevent fraud and misuse and keep the services secure
• To meet our legal obligations, including tax and accounting rules

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers on our site.

4. Your permissions in SCHMIEDE Performance

Some Performance features use your data only with your separate permission. You must be 18 or over to give these permissions, and you can withdraw any of them at any time in the app.

• Health screening: we use your answers to keep your plans safe. Withdrawing erases your answers.
• Progress photos: we store the photos you take. Withdrawing deletes all of them.
• Coach access: your assigned SCHMIEDE coach and our review team can see your Performance information, including your health answers and photos, to review your plan. Every view is recorded, and you can see who looked at what in the app. Withdrawing stops their access.
• Health app data: we read data from Apple Health or Health Connect. Withdrawing stops new syncing; data already received stays until you delete it in the app.

When a plan has to be approved before you start it, an approving reviewer sees your name, email, age and setup answers. They don't see your health screening answers, diary, journal or photos.

5. Who we share it with

• Razorpay, to take online payments (your name, email and phone number are passed to its checkout)
• Shiprocket and its courier partners, to deliver and collect orders (your name, address, phone number, email, the items and the payment mode)
• Our email service provider, to send emails to you
• Our hosting and database providers, who store our data (our database is hosted in Mumbai, India)
• Our image delivery provider, which serves the pictures on our site to your browser
• USDA FoodData Central, which receives the food names you search for in Performance, without your account details
• SCHMIEDE coaches and reviewers, only as described in section 4
• SCHMIEDE staff who need it to fulfil orders and support you
• Government or law enforcement authorities, when the law requires it

If you share your referral code, people who enter it will see your name. If you sign up with someone's referral code, they will see your first name.

6. Cookies and browser storage

Our site does not set cookies or use tracking tools. It does save a few things in your browser so the site works: your sign-in, name and email, your cart and wishlist, your theme choice, and a few display preferences. SCHMIEDE Performance also saves unit preferences, unfinished workout drafts and entries waiting to be sent when you're offline.

Signing out removes your sign-in details and Performance drafts from the browser. Razorpay's checkout and our image delivery provider may set their own cookies under their own policies.

7. How we protect it

• The site and app are served over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• Sign-in codes are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form and expire after 10 minutes
• Progress photos are encrypted, stripped of location and camera details, and shown only through links that expire within a minute
• Coach and reviewer access to Performance information is recorded

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will act promptly on any breach as the law requires.

8. How long we keep it

• Account details: while your account is in use, and afterwards only as long as needed to meet our obligations
• Orders, invoices and payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require
• SCHMIEDE Performance data: until you delete it in the app or ask us to
• Sign-in: codes expire after 10 minutes, and you stay signed in for up to 30 days
• Backups: our nightly database backups are kept for 30 days

When you delete your Performance data, we keep the record of permissions you gave or withdrew and the log of who accessed your data, because they show that your choices were respected.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:

• Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with
• Correct or update your data. You can edit your profile and addresses yourself.
• Ask us to erase your data, except where the law requires us to keep it (for example, invoices)
• Withdraw any permission you have given
• Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to
• Raise a grievance with us, and if it isn't resolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India

In SCHMIEDE Performance you can download all your Performance data and delete it yourself from your account page. For anything else, write to us at the address below.

10. Children

Our services are meant for adults. SCHMIEDE Performance permissions and passes require you to be 18 or over. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
